Festival of the Northeast in Delhi

Sanjoy Hazarika is taking part in a panel discussion with other editors and writers from the North-east at the Cultures of Peace festval organized by Zubaan, the feminist publishing house in New Delhi.  The panel, Stories from a War Zone,  is moderated by Urvashi Butalia,  publisher of Zubaan,  whose edior is Preeti Gill, C-nes advisory council member.  The event is at 4 pm today at the Habitat centre.
Tomorrow, Hazarika will be sharing his vision, thoughts and concerns for the region at the Ampitheatre at Habitat on Confronting thr Past, Imagining the Future. The other speaker is Ms.  Laxmi Murthy.  The session is at 3 pm and is followed by poetry reading,  music and dramatical performances,  including the band Soulmates of Shillong.

Sanjoy Hazarika listens to questions and responds after his lecture on January 29 at the open air amphitheater at the India Habitat Center in New Delhi as part of the closing event of the  Festival of Peace of the North-east (January  28-29), organized by Zubaan Books and supported by the Heinrich Boll Foundation.  Hazarika spoke on issues of migration, conflicts,  AFSPA, health and media in his talk. He is also seen in conversation with Laxmi Murthy, a writer and human rights activist.
